A study for a larger painting of the night sky in our neighborhood. This and perhaps the finished larger painting will be in the Person County Artist Guild member show at the Kirby Gallery in Roxboro in September. I will send reception information in another newsletter
Another little watercolor in the series "Observations" getting ready for the September show at the North Carolina Craft Gallery. This one is "Waiting in line at the Post Office."
"Waiting for her coffee order" begins a new approach for me. This little watercolor and several others will be in a show at the N. C. Craft Gallery in September. I'm calling this series "Observations." The idea is to cut out the clutter of surroundings and focus on the center of interest. After matting and framing I expect to offer them for sale for about $200 and up.
Wind River Gorge is one of the five paintings I entered into the Person County Artists Guild show in Roxboro this week. The show continues all May, with the reception May 23 from 6 to 8 pm. It would be wonderful to see some of you there and fellowship with me and the wonderful artist in the Guild.
Nacho House Cat. This book by Ashley Mosely, sponsored by Inspire EdVentures, was an illustration project I completed last spring. Its purpose was to educate children to basic facts about jaguars, and was made especially for the Belize Zoo and Philly, its resident jaguar. At present I cannot sell it through this website, but hope to soon. It is available now in soft and hardcover from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
A painting of an unusual farm; colorful shadows, clouds, light that comes from who know where. But it is a comfortable companion in any room. Painted with acrylic on a 16 x 20 canvas This and 8 other paintings of mine are for sale at the North Carolina Crafts Gallery in Carrboro
Visual Art Teacher April Olson of the Person High School assigned her students to create Artists Trading Cards and invited community members to participate. I responded with the first artist trading cards I have ever tried to create. I started with a pencil drawing I had recently done of a young woman waiting for her coffee order at Joe Van Gogh, in Chapel Hill. I included the figure in all six cards, but gave her a different background in each. These are not for sale.
